International negotiations to ban cluster bombs, Dublin, May 2008, Day 2-3

On days two and three of the international negotiations to ban cluster bombs the issue of victim assistance was high on the agenda. The CMC is calling for a treaty that will not only ban cluster bombs but also provide financial, medical, socio-economic and psychological support to affected families, communities and individuals, including clearance of contaminated land. The Ban Advocates are involved in the negotiations to ensure the rights of affected people are at the heart of the treaty.
